These fish  are plentiful in this area from January through March. During this time of year, in Costa Rica it rarely rains, and the Pacific Ocean is as calm as a millpond. In fact, we have never had a single case of sea-sickness!

We have recorded as many as 17 Sailfish catch and releases in one day, using trolling gear on one boat.  On one occasion a single angler hooked and landed 6 Sailfish before 12 noon on a fly rod!  This last  Feb. 2006, in 28 off shore boat days, our groups landed and released  162 Sailfish, 2 Marlin, 2 Yellow Fin Tuna and other fish and  raised 196 Sail fish.  This exciting fishing experience isn't just for the guys, in fact over 30% of our "fisher-persons" are women. Costa Rica also features some of the most incredible Rooster-fishing in the World. These incredible fighting fish (pictured to the left) can be caught by the dozens, and weight up to 100lb. each if you want to fish inshore.
